Overview

We are looking for someone who is excited about taking a totally new and exciting approach to PR. The PR Manager will be responsible for raising the level of conversation around 7Layer technology and developing close relationships with the press. You should be passionate about maximizing near-term opportunities while also thinking a few steps ahead, driving results around partnerships and product launches, as well as inserting 7Layer into conversations around larger industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and coordinate with marketing, product, and sales individuals around public launches and announcements; develop and execute PR strategy for each launch.
  • Monitor competitor coverage and relevant industry news; start conversations with bloggers and press either publicly or privately.
  • Track and report back on all media coverage from specific launches or public activities.
  • Research and grow media lists of relevant press from the industry as well as for each product launch or announcement.
  • Develop and execute successful product review programs.
  • Maintain speaking and awards calendars; submit 7Layer for relevant opportunities.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent; 4 year degree required
  • 2-4 years as a communications, public relations, or community manager
  • Technology-industry experience a plus
  • Technically savvy; experience or knowledge of current market trends.
  • Self-motivated and self-managed: able to think independently and move ahead, while still keeping everyone in the loop

Sales Engineer

Overview

As a Sales Engineer you will spend much of your day assisting reps on various types of technical and implementation conversations. You will assist with RFPs and Security Audits, and also assess, document, submit and monitor Sales requests into the Product Management, Platform and Engineering functions. You could easily be pulled into demos, discussions and training scenarios that are more technical. Integration and API-focused conversations will be all yours. You also love understanding a product in depth and then communicating that product to the marketplace, especially with a focus on vertical use cases that are already driving much of our broad adoption. If you love working with technology and also prospects and clients, then we want to talk to you. We do not envision that a person in this role will produce code directly for development or partner projects, but rather will marshal appropriate resources around these projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Join technically-oriented calls and conversations with prospects and clients
  • Collect, spec, and manage product and engineering requests from Sales Team
  • Assist with and advise on integration implementations, including Salesforce, Google Marketplace, and custom client integrations
  • Rapidly learn Cloud Content Management, Enterprise 2.0 and the Box.net model
  • Join prospect demos with Sales Reps and provide technical training from time to time
  • Ability to effectively develop a new hire sales/client services product training process and standardize the 7Layer product demo approach
  • Ensure 100% satisfaction with all customers
  • Prioritize opportunities and applying appropriate resources

Qualifications:

  • 4-year technical degree required
  • Obvious passion and people skills
  • Prior successful sales engineering experience
  • Consistent over-achievement in past experiences
  • Technically adept, experienced with web technologies

We are looking for self-starters who have a track record of proven Sales Engineering impact with at least 3-5 years experience. We will offer a base pay + commission structure and travel will generally not be required but is certainly feasible for the right deals.

Director of Platform

Overview

The Director of Platform will help revolutionize how businesses share and collaborate on content. 7Layer’s platform contains the leading technology, enabling businesses to be tremendously more productive at a fraction of the costs. The Director of Platform will be responsible for enabling customers, partners, and the broader developer community to leverage these technologies to significantly impact their organizations and business applications.

The Director of Platform will additionally be responsible for outlining and managing the vision of 7Layer, pricing models around its platform, evangelizing the service and technology to developer communities, and building deep relationships with partners to integrate and leverage 7Layer’s technology. The Director of Platform will work closely with 7Layer’s platform manager, engineering team, sales and marketing organizations, and will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Guiding strategy of 7Layer’s platform and platform partnerships
  • Working directly with 7Layer’s Platform Manager and Platform Development team, Product team, Business Development, Marketing, and Sales
  • Aligning the revenue and strategic goals with 7Layer’s platform strategy
  • Coordinating with partners and integration efforts
  • Develop a business model and pricing structure around 7Layer’s platform
  • Engaging with standards bodies, analysts, and other media and press

Skills

  • Deep familiarity with platform-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service providers such as Salesforce.com, Amazon AWS, Google App Engine, etc.
  • Deep understanding of managing and growing developer ecosystems
  • 5-10 years of experience in product management, marketing, or engineering leadership required
  • Strategic thinker, strong communicator, and deep technology knowledge required
  • MBA a plus
